Seeking Business Migration

Hi

Good day to you

Hope to hv your kind advise n info

Frankly...very motivated to migrate especially after reading your blog. Once again, thanks for all the info.

My scenario as below...

Main objective: schooling for my 6 year old boy and better life quality for e family.

Basically, I'm running my own business here, and would be keen to liquidate all to move over there. I plan to put my boy in one of the school there, and then, once settled down, start a new company there. I only have a general degree and my wife a diploma holder, so don't really intend to look for job.....and also, already self employed for more than 10 years, so guess starting a new business there would be ideal.

My question, is any condition or restriction for foreigner setting up a company there. Any idea n the investment size? And can I apply PR base on that.

Any other information for me on this....

Many thanks in advance for your kind advice

Warmest regards

Hi TL,

Sorry for unsettling your mind with the ramblings of this website. For further readings, you may want to try the immigration website of Australia about business migration [link] or go through this booklet 7 [link] to experience the manual-reading ordeals that all of us DIY Singaporean migrants went through.

Else, a migration agent may do the trick for you for I'm believe there is a channel for businessmen to set up businesses or investment on a provisional visa. Else, you may want to contact the helpdesk first.

Thanks to our ex-Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore Mr George Yeo, Singapore signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Australia. The happy Foreign Investment Review Board(FIRB) of Australia even put up a special tab in their website to help businessmen or investors like yourself to port your businesses over.

To answer your questions, (to my best ability)

Q1. Is any condition or restriction for foreigner setting up a company there.
There are no restrictions for Singaporeans but your proposed business have to be accepted.

Q2. Any idea of the investment size?

For pure investor stream, a designated investment of at least AUD$1.5million is required. For business innovation stream, no minimum investment is required, however you need to pass a point system (in which investment sum helps). Take a quick glance at the points system if you are interested in business innovation visa [link] (scroll down)

Q3. Can I apply PR based on that?

Indirectly yes. A provisional visa gets you here and allows you to run your business. A PR visa can be applied later when you fulfilled certain obligations and criteria, which you should not worry about at this stage.

Not really sure wanting to migrate after reading a blog makes good business sense.

    True...

Furthermore Australian consumer habits are different from Singaporeans and more are turning to internet for small and high value products.

One got to know a whole lot more before selling up and coming here to set up business

  3. If one has $5M, it will do the trick to get a PR. There is the new visa category, visa code 888. Definitely aimed at the wealthy folks from Asia, and to bring in foreign investments or funds.
